‘DON’T Box Dye Your Hair’ & Tips For Clients During Lockdown

Maintain Your Colour At Home

Due to lockdown clients have been left to their own devices when it comes to hair maintenance and upkeep 🙁 Although there is a temptation to reach for at home hair colourants, we strongly advise against them as they are a one-size fits all product that doesn’t account for variables in hair that are unique to you! Besides, nobody is so dexterous they can apply their own colour without serious overlap and blotchiness!! Remember you can make your colour last longer, until you make it back in to the salon, by avoiding washing your hair every day. The more you wash your hair, the quick your colour will fade. Hard water can also strip colour, and using cooler water instead of hot water is best as hot water removes natural essential oils and moisture from your hair.

Maintain Condition At Home

Unfortunately without regular trims and conditioning treatments it’s inevitable you’ll experience frizzing and split ends 🙁 None of us are going out much so we recommend using this time to give your hair a break. Avoid direct heat and perhaps use scrunchies instead of elastic hair bands, which will help reduce any damage. We also recommend using a professional nourishing hair mask, such as our favourite Wella Professionals FUSION Repair Mask (great for weak or damaged hair) or Wella Colour Fresh Masks and Oil Reflections Masks (fantastic for dry hair).
